THE POISE PROJECT: alexander technique for the 21st century

THE POISE PROJECT PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS

As part of The Poise Project’s mission, we offer training workshops for Alexander technique professionals and trainees in suggested best practices for adapting AT to specific populations. Some teachers attend one- or two-day workshops, while others choose to have a more immersive experience by taking an in depth training in one of our course curriculums. Some others, after having completed one of these immersive trainings, have gone on to deliver a course as a consultant for The Poise Project.

All these teachers have gained some specific knowledge about Parkinson’s, about family caregivers, and about how to implement The Poise Project’s mission and strategic model that other Alexander technique specialists may not have.

If any of these AT specialists have a website that we know of, when you hover over their name there will be a live link that can connect you. (If they don’t have a personal website, you can try to look for contact information for them at one of the AT membership organization websites listed at the bottom of this page.)

PLEASE NOTE: The Poise Project does not endorse any individual teachers. The teachers listed here are not employees of The Poise Project, may not represent themselves as such, and may not teach any of The Poise Project workshops or courses without prior written permission from The Poise Project.

Please contact us directly at: 828-254-3102 info@thepoiseproject.org if you are:

  • A service provider or organization that would like to arrange for delivery of one of our Alexander technique courses or workshops for people living with Parkinson’s, or for family care partners of people living with chronic conditions.

  • An AT professional who would like to have post-graduate training with The Poise Project.

  • An AT professional interested in training to deliver one of The Poise Project workshops or courses.
